STAT OF THE DAY (MAY 17 at SF)

Christian Yelich tied a club record with 4 runs scored last night in San Francisco, marking the 22nd time a Marlin has scored 4 runs in a game in the franchise’s 22-year history.

With 33 runs scored on the season, Yelich ranks 3rd in the National League behind only Colorado’s Troy Tulowitzki (38) and Charlie Blackmon (34).

His 33 runs scored through the Marlins’ first 43 games put Yelich on pace to score 124 this season. The single-season club record is 125 runs scored by Hanley Ramirez in both 2007 and 2008.

15 Marlins have scored 100 runs in a season, most recently Dan Uggla in 2010.

He is such a pleasure to watch play. His statistics for the game were great but I still can’t believe the Marlins are 22 years old. Seems like yesterday. LOL
